We have a complete testing laboratory for metallographic tests, with cutter, press and polishing machine, in addition to a hardness tester and microscope with image analysis.

Precision Grindometer

This instrument is used to determine the degree of fineness of grinding of paints. It is also used in the food industry (e.g. chocolate) and pharmaceutical (creams). +

Pfund Thickness Gauge

This instrument consists of two concentric cylinders, one sliding inside the other. A spherical glass lens is fitted to the end of the central cylinder and when pressed into the wet film it leaves a trace. The diameter of this mark varies depending on the thickness of the coating, which can easily be assessed from the conversion table supplied with the instrument. • Ideal for measuring the thickness of translucent products (varnish, oils etc.) • Measurement range of 2.25 - 360µm (0.09 - 14.17mils) +

Cupping Tester

Device to test the adhesion and extensibility qualities of paints, lacquers and other protective coatings applied to an aluminum substrate. Tests the extensibility and adhesive qualities of lacquers, paints and other protective coatings applied to a metal substrate. A 20mm diameter steel ball punch is applied under pressure to the uncoated side of the test panel. Concentric with the punch on the coated side of the panel is a corresponding die. As the test panel is deformed the coated surface is kept under observation and the point at which the coating cracks or becomes detached from the substrate is noted. +
