The Multifunction Master Paint Plate from NEURTEK is a compact tool designed to make on-site work easier for inspectors, quality control technicians, and paint applicators.

Lightweight, practical, and versatile, it allows you to perform essential coating tests in the field, without needing bulky equipment.

What can it do?

With just one tool, you can:

  • Measure wet film thickness: From 50 to 500 microns, in accordance with ISO 2808.
  • Apply coatings progressively: Acts as a stepped applicator up to 2000 microns.
  • Perform cross hatch adhesion tests: Cut options of 1, 1.5, 2, and 3 mm, following ISO 2409.
  • Check leveling behavior: Gives an indication of the coating’s viscosity.
  • Make a cross scratch (St. Andrew's cross): For corrosion resistance tests according to ASTM D3359.

Standards it complies with

  • ISO 2808 – Wet film thickness measurement.
  • ISO 2409 – Adhesion test by cross hatch method.
  • ASTM D3359 – Adhesion and corrosion testing by cross scratch.

Central technical details

The central zone of the plate includes:

  • Parallel groove guides:
    • 6 × 1 mm
    • 6 × 1.5 mm
  • Cuts the coating up to the substrate without penetrating it.

Recommended blade spacing by coating thickness:

  • 1 mm → up to 60 µm
  • 1.5 mm → for special applications
  • 2 mm → up to 120 µm
  • 3 mm → 120–250 µm
