The NEURTEK Sagging and Levelling Index Applicator is a practical, precision tool designed to evaluate two critical properties of liquid coatings: their ability to self-level on surfaces and their resistance to sagging during vertical applications.

This film applicator allows you to perform both tests with a single device, as each side of the applicator is specifically designed for a different test.

What is levelling in paint?

Levelling is the ability of a paint to correct minor irregularities after application, creating a smooth, uniform surface with a high-quality finish. It is especially important in satin paints or acrylic enamels, where final appearance is key.

Levelling test grooves:

• 5 pairs of grooves with depths of 0.25 / 0.5 / 1.01 / 2.03 / 4.06 mm
• Groove spacing: 2 mm
• Total groove width: 1.5 mm
  This index is defined by UNE 48043 and UNE 48068-04 standards.

What is sagging in paint?

The sag resistance index measures a wet coating’s ability to resist gravity without sliding or forming drips — a critical factor in vertical applications.

How to perform the sagging test:

1. Apply the paint horizontally with the applicator.

2. Place the test panel in a vertical position.

3. Observe whether the coating sags or remains in place.

Sagging test grooves:

• 10 grooves of varying heights
• Each groove width: 6 mm
• Groove spacing: 1.5 mm
• Total width: 100 mm
