Cylindrical Mandrels
Assess the Flexibility and Adhesion of Coatings with Precision.
The NEURTEK cylindrical mandrel is an essential tool for performing bend tests on paints and coatings applied to metal sheets. This device allows you to evaluate the flexibility and adhesion of a coating by progressively bending the sample over mandrels of varying diameters.
What is this test used for?
The cylindrical mandrel bend test helps identify:
- Cracks in the coating.
- Adhesion failures to the substrate.
- Loss of elasticity in the material.
- Elongation issues in the paint film.
It’s ideal for laboratories, quality control, and technical validation processes in industrial and research applications.
How does it work?
The process is simple:
Place the coated sample in the holder and manually bend it over mandrels with decreasing diameters. Continue until the first cracks appear in the coating layer—this indicates the material’s flexibility limit.
Compliant Standards
This equipment is designed and manufactured by NEURTEK and complies with the most common international bend testing standards:
- Cylindrical mandrel: UNE ISO 1519:2003
